What we hear

The problems that keep coming up

Four things we hear on almost every first call in this sector. If two or more sound familiar, the fix is usually structural rather than a bigger budget.

  • First-time donor retention sits near a fifth. A monthly donor stays for years and gives several times as much. Yet most giving pages still open on the one-time tab with monthly hidden behind a toggle nobody presses — and that default decides more revenue than the appeal above it.

  • Google requires a five per cent click-through rate every month, live conversion tracking, geo-targeting, two ads per ad group and no single-word keywords. Miss the rate twice running and the account deactivates, usually while nobody is watching the dashboard it happens on.

  • A programme officer reads your Form 990 on ProPublica and checks your Candid seal before your name reaches a funding committee. Charity Navigator scores governance and programme ratio from the same filings. A site whose accountability page is one annual report PDF loses that check somewhere it cannot see.

  • The most searched thing about any congregation is when it meets and what happens to the children. Most sites answer with a welcome video, a rotating banner and the service time baked into an image no search engine can read — then a new-here page written for members.

  • Volunteer offers arrive as an email to whoever watches the general inbox, then wait through a background check, an orientation date and a rota nobody has published. The person who offered a Saturday has filled it by then. Volunteer attrition is an onboarding delay, not a motivation problem.

  • Close to a third of the year's giving lands in December, much of it in the final three days, against GivingTuesday and a year-end match running at the same time. An organisation that starts building that campaign in November is arriving at the most crowded moment with nothing prepared.

Our approach

How We Fix It for Nonprofit & Religious

Four moves, in this order. The sequence matters more than any individual tactic.

01

You Own Every Account

The site, the domain, the Ad Grant account, the giving platform and the donor records are registered to your organisation from day one. A board that changes agency should never lose its donor history in the process.

02

We Work Inside the Ad Grant Policy

Grant accounts are run to Google's compliance rules rather than around them — structure, keyword quality, conversion tracking and geo-targeting reviewed monthly. A deactivated Grant costs weeks of appeals, and it always happens quietly.

03

Sixteen Years of Both Jobs

Across sixteen years and 3,000-plus businesses we have built the year-end appeal and the volunteer rota, the gala checkout and the outcomes page a funder reads. Those are different readers and different pages.

04

Reporting a Board Can Read

Monthly reporting written for trustees as well as marketers — cost per donor acquired, recurring retention, volunteer conversions and Ad Grant compliance status, in language that survives being read aloud at a board meeting.

05

Published Pricing, 30-Day Terms

Our starting price is published, terms are thirty days and there is no long lock-in. An organisation spending restricted or granted money needs a figure it can put in a budget line and defend to an auditor.

What we do for you

Everything a nonprofit & religious business needs, under one team

Website solutions

  • Giving forms that open on monthly, with suggested amounts tied to a real unit of impact instead of round numbers
  • Designation menus that write the restricted fund straight into Bloomerang or Raiser's Edge, so finance stops re-coding gifts by hand
  • Apple Pay, Google Pay, ACH and donor-advised fund routing on the same form — a card is not how the larger gifts arrive
  • Accountability pages carrying the Form 990, audited financials, board roster and Candid seal where a funder looks first
  • Service times, address, parking and children's provision in indexable text, above the fold, not inside a banner image
  • Spanish-language pages built as real pages rather than a translate widget — in El Paso that is half the community you serve

Lead generation

  • Google Ad Grants accounts built to the policy: geo-targeting, conversion tracking, two ads per ad group, no single-word keywords
  • A separate paid account for the campaigns the Grant cannot run, since Grant ads sit below every paying bidder in the auction
  • Volunteer recruitment funnels that screen availability, skills and background-check consent before a coordinator sees a name
  • Major-gift, legacy and endowment enquiry paths that route to a named person rather than the general donation form
  • Corporate partnership and sponsorship pages built around matching-gift eligibility through Double the Donation
  • Gala and event registration capturing table hosts, guest names and sponsor tier in a single pass

Marketing

  • Local SEO for the searches that actually happen — service times, food pantry near me, ESL classes, funeral and wedding enquiries
  • Year-end and GivingTuesday campaigns built in September, because the last week of December is the most crowded inbox of the year
  • Content answering what donors ask before giving: what share reaches programmes, who governs you, what changed last year
  • Grant-facing material — programme outcomes, logic models and evaluation summaries a funder can read without requesting them
  • Generative engine optimisation, because someone asking an assistant where to volunteer in El Paso gets three names and no link

Social media

  • Beneficiary and volunteer storytelling with consent and dignity rules agreed before anything is filmed
  • Sermon, khutbah and talk clips cut vertical, which is how most congregations are now found by anyone under forty
  • Peer-to-peer fundraising kits so supporters run birthday and challenge campaigns on your behalf
  • Meta and Instagram giving tools reconciled against the donor record, so a Facebook gift stops arriving as an anonymous stranger
  • Volunteer and event recruitment through Nextdoor and community groups, where the local audience already gathers

CRM & GoHighLevel

  • Bloomerang, DonorPerfect or Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud updated from the website in real time rather than by monthly CSV import
  • Monthly donor health tracking — card expiries, declined charges and lapse risk, where recurring income quietly leaks away
  • Moves management pipelines for major gifts, kept separate from the mass appeal list and its cadence
  • Donor, volunteer and member records reconciled, because the same person is usually all three under three different IDs
  • GoHighLevel two-way texting for event reminders, shift confirmations and rota changes from one number

Automation

  • Tax-deductible receipts issued instantly with the correct language, your EIN and the fair-market value of anything given in return
  • Failed recurring payment recovery — account updater, a retry schedule and a text before the gift is written off
  • Matching-gift prompts fired on the thank-you page, while the donor is still there to search their employer
  • Volunteer onboarding that books the orientation and starts the background check without a coordinator typing anything
  • Lapsed donor reactivation timed to the anniversary of the last gift rather than a calendar the donor never saw
  • Second-gift sequences for first-time donors, the group most likely never to give again

E-commerce

  • Gala and banquet ticketing with table hosts, seat assignment and sponsor tiers, exported to the run sheet
  • Silent and live auction bidding through OneCause or Greater Giving, with the purchase and the gift kept apart in reporting
  • Membership dues and renewals for associations and clubs, billed on the joining anniversary rather than one shared date
  • Bookstore, merchandise and camp checkouts kept visually distinct from the giving flow, so nobody mistakes a purchase for a donation
  • Retreat and course registration with deposits, payment plans and a scholarship or hardship path built in
Built in

Features this sector actually needs

  • Monthly by Default

The giving form opens on recurring, with amounts framed as a monthly commitment and an impact figure attached. One-time stays one tap away — it simply stops being the path of least resistance.

  • Ad Grant Compliance Watch

Your Grant account is measured against Google's policy every month — click-through rate, conversion tracking, geo-targeting, ad-group structure and sitelinks — so problems surface before the deactivation notice, not after it.

  • Designated Giving That Reaches the Ledger

A donor chooses the food pantry, the building fund or zakat, and the designation writes through to the correct fund in your donor CRM. Finance stops re-coding restricted gifts by hand.

  • Accountability Panel

Form 990, audited financials, board roster, annual report and your Candid seal published as indexable pages rather than a download, so the verification happens on your site.

  • Volunteer Intake, Not an Inbox

Availability, skills, references and background-check consent collected in one mobile form, routed to the right coordinator, with the next orientation date already booked before anyone replies.

  • Matching Gifts Checked at the Thank You

Employer matching is searched on the confirmation page while the donor is still there. Double the Donation runs the lookup and the follow-up email carries their employer's own submission form.

  • Service Times in Readable Text

Meeting times, address, parking, children's provision and what happens on a first visit, written as text a search engine and a screen reader can both read.

  • Recurring Payment Recovery

Expired cards and declined charges caught by the account updater, retried on a schedule and followed with a text — the quietest and largest source of lost recurring income.

  • Registration That Ends in a Run Sheet

Tickets, tables, guest names, dietary needs and sponsor tiers captured once, then exported in the format your event team actually works from on the night.

Most 501(c)(3) organisations do, once validated through TechSoup and enrolled in Google for Nonprofits. Government entities, hospitals and formal healthcare organisations, and schools outside their philanthropic arms are excluded. Managing it is the harder part: the policy requires geo-targeting, live conversion tracking, at least two ads per ad group, sitelinks and a monthly click-through rate above five per cent. We build the account to those rules, review compliance monthly, and run a separate paid account for the campaigns the Grant is not allowed to touch.
