What we hear

The problems that keep coming up

Four things we hear on almost every first call in this sector. If two or more sound familiar, the fix is usually structural rather than a bigger budget.

  • Between Memorial Day and Labor Day a mover books the bulk of an annual revenue, because leases turn on the first and families move while school is out. A flat monthly budget overspends through February and runs dry in the fortnight the trucks are worth the most.

  • A non-binding estimate quoted over the phone without an inventory is a marketing number, not a price. The customer discovers the 110 percent rule on loading day, when the truck is half full. Your binding not-to-exceed quote, done properly, arrives looking overpriced.

  • Your USDOT and MC numbers are public. So is your FMCSA SAFER record, your protectyourmove.gov listing and, for moves inside Texas, your TxDMV household goods registration. When none of it appears on your own site, that verification happens somewhere you cannot influence.

  • Much of the first page for long-distance moving belongs to brokers who own no vehicles and resell the enquiry to whoever answers. FMCSA requires them to disclose broker status and their MC number — most bury it, and the customer believes they hired the name on the estimate.

  • Moving reviews are written at maximum emotion, about somebody's furniture, on the worst day of their year. Since the FTC review rule took effect, gating or suppressing the bad one is a legal exposure — so volume, response speed and a visible claims process are the only workable answers.

  • Storage has no estimate and no salesperson. A tenant chooses on unit size, gate hours and drive time, usually within a few miles, while SpareFoot rents your own vacancy back to you at a commission. Occupancy, not enquiry count, is what the facility is judged on.

Our approach

How We Fix It for Moving & Storage

Four moves, in this order. The sequence matters more than any individual tactic.

01

You Own Every Account

The site, the domain, the ad accounts, the tracking numbers and every review profile are registered to your company from day one. If we ever part company, nothing about your business leaves with us.

02

We Build Both Halves

Across sixteen years and 3,000-plus businesses we have built the moving company and the storage facility, often under one roof. They need different pages, different bidding and completely different measurement.

03

We Write to Your Software

SmartMoving, Supermove, MoveitPro, storEDGE or SiteLink — we integrate where an API exists and design a clean handoff where it does not. Nobody in your office should key the same booking twice.

04

Published Pricing, 30-Day Terms

Our starting price is published, terms are thirty days and there is no long lock-in. A business earning most of its money inside a fourteen-week window should not be tied to a flat annual commitment.

What we do for you

Everything a moving & storage business needs, under one team

Website solutions

  • Video survey booking wired to Yembo or your SmartMoving calendar, so an inventory exists before a price is spoken
  • Estimate builders priced on inventory, room count, stairs, long carry, shuttle requirement and mileage band — not a bare contact form
  • Credential panels publishing USDOT, MC and TxDMV registration numbers, with the carrier-not-broker distinction stated where the customer reads it
  • A page per storage facility carrying live unit sizes, climate control, gate hours, access detail and online move-in
  • Lane pages for the long-distance routes you genuinely run, plus service pages for piano, senior, office and international work
  • Released value versus full value protection explained in plain English, because valuation is where trust is won or lost

Lead generation

  • Separate funnels for residential moves, commercial relocation and storage move-ins — three buyers who share nothing but a phone number
  • Local Services Ads with the movers background screening and Google Guaranteed badge, where your operation qualifies
  • Geo-targeting weighted to apartment clusters, university housing and new-build handovers during lease-turn weeks
  • Storage campaigns bid on unit size and drive time rather than the bare word storage, which mostly buys browsers
  • Office relocation pages written for facilities managers, with RFP forms capturing headcount, floors, lift access and after-hours windows
  • Call tracking split by service line, so a storage enquiry is never counted as a long-distance move

Marketing

  • Local SEO across every suburb, apartment cluster and neighbourhood you actually send crews to, rather than one city page
  • Paid search shaped to the calendar — building from April, throttled through winter, restored before the spring lease turns
  • Content answering the questions that decide a booking: what a binding estimate covers, what a crew legally will not haul, how valuation works
  • Generative engine optimisation, because somebody asking an assistant for a mover in El Paso is read three names and given no links
  • Retargeting aimed at estimate abandoners, who are almost always holding three quotes and a fixed moving date
  • Separate local search programmes per storage address, since each facility competes in its own small radius

Social media

  • Crew, truck and load-out footage — the proof a customer wants is that your people wrap furniture properly
  • Packing and move-week content that answers a real question and quietly demonstrates competence
  • Review handling across Google, Yelp, Angi and Thumbtack, where the moving decision is genuinely made
  • Storage offers run on Meta with a tight radius around each facility instead of the whole metro
  • Lead forms capturing move date, origin, destination and home size rather than an email address alone

CRM & GoHighLevel

  • GoHighLevel pipelines split by local move, long-distance, commercial relocation and storage move-in
  • Instant SMS acknowledgement on every estimate request — the first credible reply usually books the job
  • Survey scheduling, reminders and no-show recovery for both video and in-home walkthroughs
  • Missed-call text-back on the office line, which rings out constantly through July
  • Tagging for the referral sources that send work all year: apartment managers, realtors and relocation coordinators

Automation

  • Estimate follow-up timed to the real booking window — days for a studio apartment, months for a corporate relocation
  • Deposit collection and contract signing before a crew and a truck are held on a summer Saturday
  • Move-week sequences covering arrival window, parking permits, lift reservation and accepted payment methods
  • Post-move review requests sent to the person whose furniture moved, on the day it settled
  • Storage lifecycle flows: move-in confirmation, autopay enrolment, late-fee warning and lien notice handoff

E-commerce

  • Online storage move-in with lease signature, autopay enrolment and protection cover selected at checkout
  • Deposits and card-on-file taken through Stripe or Square the moment a date is reserved
  • A packing supply store selling box kits, wardrobe cartons, tape and mattress bags for collection or delivery
  • Labour-only crew hours sold by the block, with the minimum stated before anyone reaches the basket
  • A separate billing path for commercial accounts invoiced on terms instead of card

Features this sector actually needs

  • Video Survey, Not a Guess

The estimate path books a Yembo or live video walkthrough instead of asking for square footage. An inventory taken before the price is quoted is what makes that price hold.

  • Binding Estimate Builder

Priced on inventory, stairs, long carry, shuttle requirement and mileage band, so the figure on the screen is the figure on the paperwork rather than an opening bid.

  • Carrier Credential Panel

USDOT, MC and TxDMV registration numbers published with the SAFER record linked, and a plain statement that you own the trucks and the crew is on your payroll.

  • Facility Pages With Live Units

Every storage location gets unit sizes, current availability, climate control, gate hours and drive-time detail read from storEDGE or SiteLink instead of a sheet updated last spring.

  • Online Move-In That Completes

A tenant reserves, signs the lease, enrols in autopay and chooses protection cover from a phone at nine at night, with the unit assigned before anyone reaches your office.

  • Season-Aware Budgeting

Spend, landing pages and capacity messaging shift by calendar date, so the money is in market for lease-turn weeks and not quietly burning through February.

  • Lane and Specialty Pages

El Paso to Phoenix, piano moving, senior downsizing, office relocation and international container shipping each get a page, because none of those customers search the word mover.

  • Valuation Written Plainly

Released value against full value protection explained so a customer understands what they chose, which shortens the argument at delivery and the review that would have followed it.

Moving & Storage questions

Any question in your mind?

The questions we get asked most, answered without the sales gloss. If yours is not here, ask us directly — you will get a straight answer either way.

Still have questions?

Book 30 minutes with a strategist. No deck, no pitch — just answers about your situation.

Book a call

Publish the mechanism, not a final figure. The site collects inventory, access, stairs and distance, then books a video survey — the customer gets a real answer and you get a real estimate, with neither side anchored to something invented on a phone call. Operators who quote blind either lose margin on the awkward moves or lose the straightforward ones to whoever guessed lower. The survey is the filter that protects both.
