What we hear

The problems that keep coming up

Four things we hear on almost every first call in this sector. If two or more sound familiar, the fix is usually structural rather than a bigger budget.

  • AVImark and Idexx Cornerstone run on a server in the back office with no public API. So the website takes an appointment nobody enters until a receptionist re-types it, and the doctor's real availability stays invisible to the client choosing between you and the clinic down Zaragoza.

  • Dog ate chocolate at midnight and puppy shots on Tuesday are the same website answering two people who share nothing at all. One needs hours, a map pin and a phone that rings. The other needs a bookable slot. A single homepage usually serves neither.

  • Pet owners grieve in public, and the angriest reviews follow the worst days. Texas Occupations Code 801.353 keeps the veterinary record confidential, so the practice cannot post the facts in reply. Silence reads as guilt, and the review sits at the top of the profile.

  • Pharmacy and prescription-diet margin used to stay in the building. Now the authorisation request arrives by fax from Chewy and the client never returns for it. Vetsource and Covetrus can put that pharmacy on your own domain — but only if the website sends people there first.

  • A sitter or walker found through Rover or Wag stays Rover's client, with commission taken on every repeat booking for years. The platform outranks you for your own neighbourhood searches, and it holds the review history you built — none of which travels with you when you leave.

  • Boarding revenue concentrates into Thanksgiving, Christmas and spring break, and those weeks fill months ahead. Meanwhile every reservation needs current rabies, DHPP and Bordetella records, which arrive as phone photographs on the morning of drop-off and jam the lobby at the busiest hour of the year.

Our approach

How We Fix It for Pet Services

Four moves, in this order. The sequence matters more than any individual tactic.

01

You Own Every Account

The domain, the website, the ad accounts, the tracking numbers and the client records are registered to your practice from day one. The number printed on your front door stays yours, along with its entire call history.

02

We Work Around the PIMS

ezyVet, Digitail, Shepherd and Provet Cloud have APIs. Cornerstone and AVImark largely do not. We integrate where an API exists, bridge with Vetstoria or PetDesk where it does not, and never hand your front desk double entry.

03

Sixteen Years, 3,000-Plus Businesses

We have built for the two-doctor practice, the mobile grooming round, the boarding kennel and the rescue running on donations. Those are four different buyers, four different funnels and four genuinely different websites.

04

Published Pricing, 30-Day Terms

Our starting price is published, terms are thirty days and there is no long lock-in. A grooming salon should be able to stop, and take every asset with it, without a lawyer reading a contract first.

What we do for you

Everything a pet services business needs, under one team

Website solutions

  • Real-time appointment booking wired to ezyVet, Digitail or Shepherd — or through a Vetstoria layer where the PIMS has no API
  • An emergency path visible from every page: current hours, after-hours instructions and the nearest 24-hour hospital
  • Grooming and boarding reservations that capture breed, weight, coat type, add-ons and temperament notes as the booking is made
  • Vaccination certificate upload at booking, checked against the stay dates rather than at the front desk on the day
  • Team pages naming the actual DVMs, technicians and groomers — owners choose a person, not a practice
  • One page per service — dental, spay and neuter, orthopaedic, behavioural, hospice — written for owners rather than colleagues

Lead generation

  • Separate campaigns for emergency intent and routine intent, which never share a landing page, a bid or a phone number
  • New-puppy and new-kitten funnels aimed at the first fortnight of ownership, when the practice choice is actually made
  • Google Business Profile and map pack work per location, with call tracking that survives multi-site groups
  • Wellness plan and membership enquiry forms segmented by species, age and weight band
  • Adoption, foster and volunteer application forms for shelters and rescues, with follow-up that survives a weekend
  • Call tracking split across clinic, grooming and boarding lines, so one number never absorbs three businesses

Marketing

  • Local SEO across the map pack, where a near-me search decides most first visits and every emergency one
  • Symptom-led content — chocolate, xylitol, foxtails, bloat, heatstroke — written to triage the panicked search and route it to a phone
  • Seasonal campaigns timed to flea and tick season, holiday boarding windows and the summer pavement heat particular to El Paso
  • Generative engine optimisation, because an owner asking an assistant for an emergency vet gets three practice names and no link
  • Reputation work that asks for the review at the right moment and answers the hard ones without disclosing a record

Social media

  • Grooming transformations and daycare play-group footage shot vertically — the best-performing content any pet business already owns
  • Patient-of-the-week and adoption posts with written owner permission logged before anything publishes
  • Behind-the-scenes dentistry and surgery content edited for owners rather than for colleagues
  • Meta and TikTok campaigns for daycare trial days, capturing breed, weight and vaccination status in the form itself
  • Review and comment handling across Google, Yelp, Nextdoor and the neighbourhood Facebook groups where recommendations actually happen

CRM & GoHighLevel

  • GoHighLevel pipelines separated by clinic, grooming, boarding and training — one household, four different lifecycles
  • Missed-call text-back on the front desk line, which rings out constantly through morning drop-off
  • Two-way texting from the number on your door, so a photograph of a rash reaches the practice and not someone's personal mobile
  • Records tagged by pet rather than by owner, since a three-dog household is three vaccination schedules
  • Lapsed-client detection at eighteen months, the point at which a patient has quietly moved to another practice

Automation

  • Vaccine, heartworm and flea-preventive reminders that stop the moment the appointment is actually booked
  • Deposit collection and cancellation terms enforced at booking for the boarding weeks that sell out
  • Grooming rebooking prompts on each dog's real cycle — six weeks for a doodle, twelve for a shorthair
  • Post-visit review requests timed after discharge and sent to the owner, never handed over at the desk
  • Vaccination expiry checks that email the owner ahead of the reservation instead of turning a family away at drop-off
  • New-client onboarding that collects history, prior clinic records and consent forms before the first appointment

E-commerce

  • An online pharmacy through Vetsource or Covetrus on your own domain, not a link that hands the client to Chewy
  • Prescription diet, preventive and supplement reordering with autoship and home delivery
  • Retail catalogue on Shopify or WooCommerce with local pickup for the store attached to the clinic or salon
  • Gift cards and prepaid grooming, daycare and training packages redeemable inside the booking system
  • Wellness plan subscriptions billed monthly through Stripe, with plan status visible to the front desk at check-in
Built in

Features this sector actually needs

  • Booking That Writes Back

The appointment lands in ezyVet, Digitail or Shepherd as a real slot on a real doctor's schedule. Where Cornerstone or AVImark cannot take it, Vetstoria bridges the gap.

  • An Emergency Path on Every Page

Current hours, after-hours instructions and a one-tap call button pinned where a frightened owner finds them in seconds, on the phone they are already holding.

  • Vaccination Records at Booking

Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella certificates uploaded when the reservation is made, checked for expiry against the stay dates, and flagged to staff long before drop-off morning.

  • Breed-Aware Grooming Quotes

Coat type, weight, matting and temperament captured on the booking form, so the time blocked matches the dog that walks in and the quote given holds.

  • Review Replies That Stay Legal

Response templates that acknowledge, apologise and move the conversation to a phone call without disclosing one detail of the record — confidentiality rules do not pause for a one-star.

  • Live Kennel and Daycare Availability

Gingr and PetExec already know which runs are free over Thanksgiving. The website should say so on the page, rather than after a voicemail and a callback.

  • Wellness Plans Sold Online

Membership enrolment completed on the site with recurring billing, documents signed electronically, and plan status written where the front desk can see it at check-in.

  • Adoption and Foster Applications

Shelter applications with home, landlord and reference screening built into the form, animals syndicated to Petfinder and Adopt-a-Pet, and each submission routed to whoever can approve it.

Pet Services questions

Any question in your mind?

The questions we get asked most, answered without the sales gloss. If yours is not here, ask us directly — you will get a straight answer either way.

Book a call

It depends which one you run. ezyVet, Digitail, Shepherd and Provet Cloud expose APIs, so the site can read a doctor's real availability and write the appointment back. Cornerstone and AVImark largely do not — they sit on a server in your back office. There we put Vetstoria or PetDesk in between, which sync through a bridge agent, or we design a structured handoff so the front desk enters each booking once and never twice.
