Technical SEO

Technical SEO is the work that decides whether a search engine can reach, render and understand your pages at all. We audit crawl paths, indexation, rendering, structured data and internal linking, then fix them in priority order.

The problem

Most sites losing organic traffic are not losing it on content quality. They are losing it because a third of their pages are not indexed, the JavaScript never renders for a crawler, the canonical tags point at the wrong URL, or four versions of the same page are competing with each other. None of that is visible from the front end.

How we do it

What the work actually involves

/01

Crawl and index coverage, page by page

We crawl the site the way a search engine does, then compare that against what Google actually has indexed. The gap between the two is where the traffic is. Every excluded page gets a reason — blocked, redirected, duplicate, thin, or not discovered — because the fix is different for each.

/02

Rendering: what the crawler receives before JavaScript runs

If your content only exists after a bundle executes, Google puts the page in a second render queue that runs days to weeks behind the crawl, and Bing and the AI crawlers largely skip it. We test what arrives with JavaScript disabled and, when it is empty, fix it at the source with server rendering or prerendering rather than papering over it.

/03

Duplication, canonicals and parameters

Filters, sorting, tracking parameters, uppercase URLs, trailing slashes, http and https, www and bare. Each variation is another copy of the same page competing for the same query. We consolidate them so one URL holds the authority instead of five splitting it.

/04

Site architecture and internal linking

A page four clicks from the homepage with two internal links pointing at it will not rank, whatever is on it. We map the link graph, find the orphans and the dead ends, and rebuild the paths so authority flows to the pages that are meant to earn money.

/05

Structured data that validates

Organisation, Service, FAQ, Breadcrumb, Article, LocalBusiness and Product where each applies — implemented, validated, and monitored in Search Console so a silent schema break does not cost you rich results for a quarter.

Still deciding

  • SEO vs PPC

PPC buys traffic today and stops when you stop. SEO compounds and takes months. Most businesses need both, in that order.

A general audit looks at keywords, content and links. A technical audit looks at whether the site can be crawled, rendered, indexed and understood in the first place. If those are broken, content and link work has nothing to stand on — which is why we do this before anything else on a new engagement.
